Tolley has Phenomenal Year |
|
Congratulations to Lisa Tolley for her 2nd place female finish at Myrtle Beach! Lisa finished with a time of 3:02:04. 2008 is starting out great for Lisa. In 2007, she also had a phenomenal year. In April, she was invited to run in the USA Women's Marathon Championship at the Boston Marathon. This entitled her to line up on the starting line with the best runners in the nation. While the rest of us were out there slugging through a mountain of discarded clothing and drinking cups toe to toe with 1000s of other runners, Lisa ran unencumbered during the 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to Boston. She had the privilege of being in the midst of the elite males as they passed by. Lisa ran a 3:06:19 through the remnants of the Nor'easter in Boston. Lisa placed 9th in the masters category and won a beautiful crystal vase plus prize money! What an experience!
Lisa also was 1st Master in the Half Marathon at Myrtle Beach with a time of 1:23:31.
Reedy River brought another stellar performance - Lisa ran a 38:31 and brought home the 2nd place female trophy and cash award!
Lisa topped 2007 by completing an Iron Man in Panama City Florida. She had the fastest female running time! Scottie Ferguson also completed this event.
The picture shows Lisa the day before the Boston Marathon with E.K. Tolley-Beeson, a well-known SC runner who is 71 years old.
